Risify Related Search

Improve navigation and SEO with Risify’s Related Search. Easily add targeted product suggestions to your Shopify collections and enhance shopper experience.

The Related Search feature in Risify adds a suggestion row to your collection pages. It displays short, clickable items that link to other collections or products you select, so shoppers can jump to adjacent topics, accessories, or alternatives without typing a query.

You place the section anywhere on the collection template in the Theme Editor and control its look with simple settings.

Suggestions are defined per collection in Shopify Admin, so each collection can guide customers to the most relevant next steps.

This feature improves:

  • Customer guidance: Shoppers quickly branch to related topics when the current collection is close but not exact.
  • SEO context: Internal links to semantically related collections and products strengthen topical relevance and crawl paths.
  • Cross-sell potential: Surfaces complementary items that increase add-to-cart opportunities.

Example : On an “antibacterial toilet pack” product page, suggest similar options under a “Faster delivery?” section – showing other toilet packs with shorter shipping times, helping users pick an alternative that arrives sooner and complete their purchase more efficiently.

The Related Search setup in Risify also has two phases:

  • Phase 1: In Shopify Admin, you will enable Related Search and attach suggestions to each collection. Suggestions can be collections or products, and you can reorder them.
  • Phase 2: In the Theme Editor, you will insert the Related Searches section on your collection template, choose its placement, and adjust header, item style, colors, and spacing.

If you complete Phase 1 and do not see any suggestions yet, finish Phase 2 to display them on your storefront.

Phase 1 - Enable and define in Shopify Admin

In this phase, you will enable Related Search in Shopify Admin and attach suggestions to a collection.

When you finish these steps, proceed to Phase 2 to place the Related Search section on your storefront and style it. Follow the steps below in order.

1) In Shopify Admin , go to Apps > Risify > Navigation .

2) At the top of the page , find the Related Search banner and click Turn on .

Tip : If you do not see Turn on , the feature is already active.

Step 2 - Open the editor for a collection

1) In the Collections tab, find the collection you want to configure.

2) In the Actions column, click the three dots (⋯) and choose Edit related search .

1) In the modal, use the search bar to find items to suggest.

2) Select the Collections or Products you want to include.

3) Tick the items you want and click Add . You can choose multiple items from either tab, and even combine both Collections and Products in a single Related Search.

4) Use drag and drop to reorder the list so the most useful suggestions appear first.

Step 4 - Save and verify

1) Click Save .

2) Back on the Navigation table, check the Related search column for that collection to see your tags appear.

You have finished Phase 1 .

In Phase 2 , you will place the Related Search section on your collection template in the Theme Editor and style it to match your theme.

What Happens Next

At this stage, your Related Searches are active in Risify and correctly assigned inside Shopify Admin.

However, they won’t be visible on your storefront yet - that part happens in Theme Customization , where you’ll add and style the Related Search section inside your theme.

We’ll cover that in the next phase. For now, make sure your questions and assignments are saved so they’re ready to connect when you move on to the design setup.

Phase 2 - Place and customize in the Theme Editor

In this phase, you will add the Related Searches section to your collection template and style it. Start by inserting the section from the Apps tab, then use the right sidebar to adjust layout, typography, colors, and spacing.

Step 1 - Open the correct collection template

1) In Shopify Admin , go to Online Store → Themes .

2) Find the theme you want to edit and click Customize .

3) When you open the theme editor you land on the home page. From the top navigation bar, select the page type where you added your FAQs in Phase 1:

  • If you want to add related searches to a collection page, switch to the collection template you want to edit. If you haven’t created custom templates, you can simply use the Default collection template.
  • If you want to add them to a product page, switch to the product template you want to edit. If you don’t have multiple templates, select the Default product template instead.

4) After selecting the template, navigate to the specific collection or product where you previously assigned your related searches. This ensures the correct content appears when you add the section.

Step 2 - Add the section and place it

1) In the left sidebar, click Add section . Switch to the Apps tab and select Related Searches - Risify .

2) The section is inserted on the page. Drag and drop it to your preferred spot. Many stores place it near the bottom, but you can position it wherever it fits your layout.

Step 3 - Configure settings in the right sidebar
