The Collection Menu feature in Risify helps your customers browse between related product groups without going back to the main collection page.
It adds a visual navigation bar to the top of your product pages, showing links (and thumbnails, if available) to other collections that are part of the same category.
This feature improves:
- User experience: Shoppers can switch between similar collections easily (for example, from “Corner Sofas” to “Two-Seater Sofas”).
- SEO performance: Internal linking between related collections helps search engines understand category relationships.
- Engagement: Reduces bounce rates by giving users more browsing paths within your store.
Two Phases of Setup - Collection Menu
The Collection Menu setup in Risify has two phases:
- Phase 1: In Shopify Admin, you will enable Collection Menu and define the items for each collection from the Actions menu. You control which collections appear and in what order.
- Phase 2: In the Theme Editor, you will add the Collection Menu section to your collection template, place it where you want, and style the tiles and text.
If you complete Phase 1 and do not see the menu yet, finish Phase 2 to make it visible on your storefront.
Phase 1 - Enable and define in Shopify Admin
In this phase, you will enable Collection Menu in Shopify Admin and define the items for each collection. When you finish, continue to Phase 2 to place the section on your collection template and style it to match your theme. Follow the steps below in order:
Step 1 - Edit a Collection Menu
1) In your Shopify Admin , open the Apps menu on the left sidebar.
2) Click Risify , then select Navigation from the menu.
3) In the Collections tab, locate the collection you want to edit. Under the Actions column, click the three dots (⋯) icon. Choose Edit Collection Menu from the dropdown.
A popup window will appear where you can add or reorder related collections.
Step 3 - Add Related Collections
1) In the “Search collections and add” field, start typing the name of the collections you want to include. Select one or more collections from the list.
2) You’ll see them appear under Preview , showing how they’ll display on the storefront.
3) Drag and drop to reorder the menu items as needed.
4) Click Save when done.
You’ve now created a Collection Menu for that specific collection.
What Happens Next
This completes Phase 1 of the Collection Menu setup, enabling and defining your menus in the admin.
In Phase 2 , you’ll customize how the Collection Menu looks on your storefront: colors, typography, spacing, and layout.
That’s where you’ll make the menu visually match your brand’s design and improve its placement for better visibility.
Phase 2 - Display and customize in the Theme Editor
You will add the Collection Menu block to your collection template in the Shopify Theme Editor, place it where you want, and style it to match your theme.
Step 1 - Open the correct collection template in the Theme Editor
1) In Shopify Admin , go to Online Store → Themes .
2) Find the theme you want to edit and click Customize .
3) Open the exact page you want to edit.
When you open the theme editor you land on the home page. From here:
- Switch to the collection template you want to edit (or use the Default collection template).
- Open the specific collection where you want the Collection Menu to appear.
After selecting the template, navigate to the specific collection or product where you previously assigned your Collection Menu. This ensures the correct content appears when you add the section.
Step 2 - Add the Risify Collection Menu section
1) In the left sidebar, scroll to the Template area and click Add Section . Switch to the Apps tab. Select Collection Menu - Risify to insert the section.
2) If the section appears at the bottom of the page, you can drag and drop it to your preferred position.
Tip : Many stores place it under the hero banner so visitors see alternative collections immediately.

Use the right sidebar to style how the Collection Menu looks and behaves.
